Fourth Court of Appeals
The Fourth Court of Appeals hears civil and criminal appeals for a 32 county region that covers most of south Texas.  As an intermediate state appellate court, the Fourth Court has jurisdiction over appeals in civil matters such as contracts, family law, oil and gas, personal injury, deceptive trade practices act, insurance, and probate matters.  The Fourth Court also hears appeals of juvenile court matters, parental termination cases, and criminal misdemeanor and felony cases.
