I am pleased to announce that I will be running in the 2018 general election for a seat on the Fourth Court of Appeals.  Currently, I am a civil litigation attorney at the law firm of Prichard & Young, LLP in San Antonio, Texas.  I was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve as one of five members on the Public Safety Commission that overseas the Department of Public Safety.  As you may know, I was appointed to the Fourth Court of Appeals by Governor Rick Perry.  I served as a Justice on the Fourth Court of Appeals from 2015 to 2016 and heard civil and criminal appeals for a 32 county region that covers most of south Texas. Prior to this appointment, I served as Judge of Bexar County, County Court at Law No. 5.  I was elected in 2010 and reelected in 2014.  County Court at Law No. 5 is a general jurisdiction court.  I handled both civil and criminal cases and presided over more than 70 trials.  In addition, I was one of a few County Court Judges who heard cases from the Civil District Courts.  I heard family law cases and larger civil disputes to assist Bexar County District Court judges.
